• 1975 Founded by Dick & Edith Saterbo in Winter Haven, Florida. Colorado Boxed Beef Company (“CBBC”) began with four employees shipping a total of 29,000 pounds of boxed beef in its first week.
  • 1983 The show must go on! Even when a fire destroyed a warehouse in November, CBBC shipped product to its customers the next night.
  • 1986 Grew product lines to include pork, veal, lamb, poultry, frozen vegetables, deli items and seafood, which allowed expansion into the cruise line industry.
  • 1991 Company leadership was assumed by Bryan, Steve, and John Saterbo.
  • 1995 Grew sales to over $210 million with over 220 employees.
  • 1999 Ranked in the top 10 on the Florida Trend list of the Top 200 Privately-Held Companies in Florida, in the top 20 of the Meat + Poultry business journal’s Top 100 Meat and Poultry Manufacturers in the nation, and in the top 50 on their international list.
  • 2001 Partnered with InterSupply – Rotterdam, Netherlands, providing sourcing and logistical services to the European Cruise industry.
  • 2002 Partnered with The Great Fish Co. With offices around the globe, The Great Fish Co. is a direct source importer providing customers with a variety of options from fish fillets to crawfish, crab legs, and mussels.
  • 2003 Acquired the trucking operation Alterman Transportation Group (ATG), a full-line trucking and logistics company. Sold a specialty meat-cutting facility location and an affiliated broad line foodservice operation, J&B Foodservice ($70MM in annual sales), to SYSCO.
  • 2004 Acquired the facility location of Houston-based PREFCO Corp. in March.
  • 2006 Recognized as a leader in distributing food products in the Southeast and expanded service to every city in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Texas.
  • 2012 Acquired JBS Distribution adding six new full-line protein facility locations across the US.
  • 2013 Ranked 6th on Tampa Bay Business Journal’s list of Florida’s Top Privately Held Companies.
  • 2013 Purchased Phoenix Industries, a multi-temperature, food-grade storage and distribution company strategically located in Winter Haven, Florida and integrated this business with ATG.
  • 2013 Acquired ASC, a federally inspected facility that provides value-added seafood that transforms ordinary to extraordinary and that specializes in portion control and unique profiles and presentations.
  • 2014 Created Riptide Foods, bringing together years of extensive seafood knowledge and longstanding, partnered relationships from around the world.
